Decree on the Retrofit of Electric Heating Systems and Water Heaters
On January1, 2025, the decree mandating the retrofitting of electric heating systems and water heaters will take effect (DACCE, RSV 730.051). This decree phases out the use of such systems and sets a deadline for their replacement by January 1, 2033. This regulation will quickly generate electricity savings and increase the resilience of the Vaud electricity system, particularly during the winter months. Approximately 22,000 homes are affected by the requirement to replace their electric heating systems. To facilitate this transition, resources are being made available to support affected homeowners.
